With the new President-elect Donald Trump ready to move into the White House next January, this leaves the Obama family needing a new place to live. While they certainly have many choices, the couple has elected to rent a home just a couple of miles away from the mansion they’ve lived in for the last 8 years. Although the details of the interior style were previously kept under wraps, it has now been revealed just how gorgeous this property is. For details that will allow you to imagine living here for yourself, just keep reading.

Where

Roughly 15 minutes (or 1.9 miles) from the White House, the Obama’s new home is located in the upscale D.C. neighborhood of Kalorama. Featuring extravagant homes with marble fountains and manicured lawns, it’s easy to see why the former President would choose to rent here.

When

After President-elect Trump moves into the White House in January, the Obamas will move into their new rental home in D.C. However, it’s unlikely they will stay here for years to come. It has been reported that they will only stay here until their daughter Sasha has become a high school graduate.

Design

The 8,200 square foot home is Tudor style with a gorgeous brick exterior, beautifully designed garden, and sprawling outdoor terrace. The interior has been completely re-designed to offer a traditional yet modern look for the former First Family. Each area of the home has been beautifully designed, beginning with the ground floor. This is where the Obama’s can access a two-car garage, media room, laundry room, wet bar, and in-law suite.

The main level of the home features a gourmet kitchen with marble breakfast bar, large family room, an informal dining area, and luxury finishes in every corner. Going upstairs the family will find a master suite with his and hers baths, several bedrooms, a playroom, a home office, and an exercise room.

A Temporary Home with a Lot of Style

While it’s safe to say the Obama’s new home won’t come with all the luxuries like those at the White House, it’s still a beautiful place to live. The incredible kitchen, nine bedrooms, manicured gardens, and 8.5 bathrooms are sure to offer the family everything they could need in a place to live. Where will they go once their lease is up? It’s rumored that they’ll head to Rancho Mirage, California, where the family has reportedly purchased their fifth home.
